Visit to the Hippodrome - October 2nd 2024
Two of our members are supporters of the Bristol Light Opera Club, an amateur theatre group, who give a show once a year at the Bristol Hippodrome. This year it was “Me and My Girl”. A musical set in the 1930’s and includes the songs ‘Doing the Lambeth Walk’ and The Sun Has Got His Hat On’. The show was a resounding success and well up to professional standards. We enjoyed a meal at a local pub before the show.

Jazz Concert - April 22nd at Tynings School
The 1904 Strollers with Stuart Potter played Trad Jazz and some old faithful numbers to entertain us. Bob & Sherry supplied the grub and Sam & Jerry ran the bar. A great evening with a good profit for our charity funds
President's Spring Lunch - March 26th 2023
34 of us gathered at the Horseshoe pub for a pleasant meal. It was especially good to see Eileen H, Graham W and Bernard H who cannot normally get to our evening meals. The service was a bit slow due to the numbers and a small kitchen but, when it came, the meal was worth the wait. Roger Cl gave a thanks to all members who have supported him during Joy’s illness and said how pleased he was to see so many of our members at her funeral. A fitting send off to a lovely lady.

April 2nd 2022 - Real Coffee Mornings restart
A change at Coffee Morning
Our real Coffee Mornings restarted on April 2nd after the long delay caused by the Covid pandemic. Our Zoom sessions have been very good at keeping the club together and have raised nearly £5,000 from members who made donations in lieu of coffee they would have bought. We have moved from the lower hall into the church vestibule but found the space limited. A solution has been to set up additional seating in the main church near the pulpit. There are comfortable chairs and plenty of room to sit and chat. The March meeting resulted in a magnificent £72 profit, thanks for all the cake donations.
